특별위원회 조직   

   사랑하는 체리힐 교우 여러분께, 최근 우리 교회 중고등부 유스그룹 내에서 매우 안타까운 일이 있었습니다. 담임목사로서 또 교회 목회자들을 대표해서 먼저 사과 드리고, 용서를 구합니다. 최근 온라인 공간에서 발생한 일부 학생들의 부적절한 행동과 이미지 사용으로 인하여 한 학생이 깊은 상처를 입은 사실을 매우 심각하게 받아들이고 있습니다. 첫 단계에서 이 일을 처리함에 미숙함이 있었습니다. 담임목사로서 사과를 드립니다. 그렇기 때문에 현재 이 문제는 특별위원회를 새롭게 조직해서 앞으로 이런 일이 발생하지 않고 또 예방할 수 있는 교육과 정책을 만들고 있습니다. 

   담임목사로서 무엇보다 상처받은 학생과 가족분들께 먼저 진심으로 사과와 위로의 말씀을 전합니다. 저의 부족함을 인식하고, 더 민감하게 행동할 것을 약속드립니다. 이번 일로 충격과 고통을 겪고 계신 학생들의 부모님들께도 깊은 위로의 말씀을 드립니다. 저와 교회는 이 가정들 역시 신앙 공동체 안에서 돌봄과 회복이 필요하다는 점을 깊이 인식하고 있습니다. 또한 이런 사안이 앞으로 더 발생해서는 안되겠으며 우리 모두의 자녀들이 안전한 환경에서 신앙생활을 이어갈 수 있는 계기가 되도록 담임목사로 더 노력하겠습니다. 또한 모든 성도님들의 협조와 도움을 부탁드립니다. 교회는 모든 가정들의 회복을 위해 함께 기도하며 도울 것입니다. 어려운 시간 속에서도 진실이 드러나고, 회개와 회복을 통해 하나님의 공의와 은혜가 공동체 안에 세워지도록 최선을 다하겠습니다. 

   특별위원회의 대응 및 재발 방지 대책을 세운 내용을 아래와 같습니다.

1. 이 일로 인하여 특별 위원회가 현재 구성되어 활동 중입니다.

2. 괴롭힘 방지 정책(Anti-Bullying Policy) 을 교회 차원에서 수립하고, 모든 부서에 해당 내용을 교육할 예정입니다.

3. ‘Anti-Bullying Committee’를 교회 내에 상설기구로 설치하여 지속적인 관리와 예방활동을 추진하겠습니다.

4. 청소년 대상 예방 교육 프로그램을 준비하여 주기적으로 시행할 예정입니다.

5. 피해 학생을 위한 전문 상담 및 심리적·정서적 지원 체계를 마련하겠습니다.

6. 필요시 외부 전문가의 조력을 적극적으로 구할 계획입니다.

   체리힐제일교회 모든 성도님들은 담임목회자와 교회가 대책을 세우는 것이 누군가를 비난하거나 몰아가는 것이 아니라, 진정한 회개와 회복을 통해 우리 교회가 더욱 건강하고 안전한 공동체로 만들기 위함임을 꼭 기억해 주시길 바랍니다. 또한 이번 사안과 관련하여 부적절한 조언이나 개입이 오히려 상황을 악화시킬 수 있음을 유념해 주시고 협조를 부탁드립니다. 부디, 이번 일을 두고 섣부른 추측이나 오해 그리고 잘못된 판단으로 인하여 유언비어가 퍼지지 않도록 절제와 삼가 조심해주시길 부탁드립니다. 그리하여 피해 학생과 가족, 또한 이 일에 관련된 학생들이  더 깊은 상처를 받지 않고 하나님의 은혜 안에서 진정한 회복을 경험할 수 있도록  함께 기도해 주시고 협조 해주시면 감사하겠습니다. 

Special Committee Organization

Dear beloved FGMC of Cherry Hill members,

   Recently, a very unfortunate incident occurred within our church’s youth group. As the senior pastor and on behalf of the church pastoral staff, I first offer my apology and ask for your forgiveness. We are taking very seriously the fact that one student was deeply hurt due to the inappropriate behavior and use of images by some students in an online space. The initial response to this matter was not handled as effectively as it should have been. As the senior pastor, I offer my apology.

   Therefore, we are now newly organizing a special committee to address this issue, so that such incidents do not happen again, and to create educational materials and policies to prevent them in the future. As the senior pastor, above all, I sincerely apologize and offer words of comfort to the student who was hurt and to her family. Recognizing my shortcomings, I promise to act with greater sensitivity. I also offer deep comfort to the parents of students who are experiencing shock and pain due to this incident. Both I and the church deeply recognize that these families also need care and healing within the faith community. 

   Furthermore, such matters must never occur again, and I will do my best as the senior pastor so that all our children can continue their life of faith in a safe environment. I also ask for the cooperation and support of all church members. The church will continue to pray and offer support for the healing of all families. Even in this difficult time, we will do our best so that truth is revealed, and through repentance and  recovery, God’s justice and grace will be established within our community.

   Below are the responses and prevention measures established by the special committee:

1. A special committee has been formed and is currently active regarding this matter.

2. An anti-bullying policy will be established at the church level and will be taught to all departments.

3. An “Anti-Bullying Committee” will be permanently installed within the church to promote continuous management and preventive activities.

4. A preventive education program for youth will be prepared and implemented regularly.

5. A professional counseling and emotional/psychological support system will be arranged for the affected student.

6. We plan to actively seek the help of external experts if necessary.

   All FGMC of Cherry Hill members, please remember that the measures being taken by the senior pastor and the church are not to blame or condemn anyone, but to truly repent and recover, so that our church becomes a healthier and safer community. Also, we ask for your cooperation and to keep in mind that inappropriate advice or intervention regarding this matter may worsen the situation.

   Please refrain from hasty speculation and ensure that misunderstandings or false rumors do not spread due to incorrect judgments. We thank you for your prayers and cooperation so that the affected student and their family, as well as the students involved in this incident, do not suffer deeper wounds but may experience true healing in God’s grace.
